Violinist Yidan Zhang is a soloist, chamber musician, and teacher who has performed throughout China and the
United States. Ms. Zhang received her Bachelor’s degree in violin performance from Shanghai
Conservatory of Music. She holds both the Artist Diploma and Master’s degree in violin performance at
the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University with Mr. Sergiu Schwartz. She has also
completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Georgia where she was accepted on
full scholarship and as a teaching assistant under Professor. Levon Ambartssumian.
As a soloist, Ms. Zhang has performed recitals as a cultural liason through musical celebrations
between China and the United States. She has won the first prize in the 2016 Atlanta Music Club
Scholarship Competition. In 2021, she won the Hugh Hodgson School of Music Concerto Competition
and play solo with the University of Georgia Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Zhang’s orchestral experience has included performing with the Columbus State Orchestra, Columbus Symphony
Orchestra, Albany Symphony Orchestra, Lagrange Symphony Orchestra, University of Georgia Symphony
Orchestra, and the Savannah Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Zhang is a pleasant, responsible, and reliable person who has a strong passion for teaching. Ms. Zhang has taught music lessons since 2015,
teaching students of all ages.
Numbers of students have joined the All- State Symphony Orchestra under her guidance.
